I am completely hooked to the show, Criminal Minds. The fact that the show focuses on the criminal and not the crime per se particularly fascinates me. Also, in today’s terror-ridden life, danger is lurking at every corner…who knows, even while you are at home or at work, a drone could come flying and crash into your hitherto comfortable habitat. So, do not, under any circumstances, consider your current habitat to be danger-proof!

While fans are still trying to adjust to the idea of a spin-off of Criminal Minds, the show plows on with vigour. A new addition to the already star-studded cast today was Beau Garrett who will play the female lead ‘Gina’ – loyal to Whitaker’s character, the protagonist called Cooper and the target for Mick(portrayed by Matt Ryan)’s incessant flirting. Garrett has been seen on screen in Entourage and House along with her big screen debut in Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer.

To keep you updated about the spin-off, here are the character descriptions which, according to the CBS executives, do not include the mothership team:

Cooper: Team leader – very loyal to his team but with a rather obscure past. An alpha male who had been missing from action for the past decade, he resembles Gibbs from NCIS possibly!

Gina: A thirty-something woman who escapes the streets of Baltimore only to return as an undercover agent after being re-recruited by Cooper subsequent to her leaving FBI after her father’s death.

Mick: A 30 year old British Special Forces Operative who serves as the sniper but can dish out words with equal deadliness!

Prophet: Another 30 year old character who is basically a reformed con (African-American – racism will never die!) who wishes to clean up his act after the jail term.
